Wordle Hint ("the extension") is a browser extension published by CasualAtlas (https://www.casualatlas.com/). This policy explains what the extension does with data.
We do not collect any data. The extension has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Nothing you type, play or view is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
What the extension reads. On the New York Times Wordle page only (https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle/*) the extension reads the letters and colours of the tiles on your board so it can compute hints. This happens entirely inside your browser and the information is never stored remotely or shared. It does not run on any other website.
What is stored on your device. Using the browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local), the extension saves only your own preferences: interface language, whether the hint panel is open/minimised/closed and where you dragged it, solver options, and any board you entered manually. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the extension. You can also reset it by removing and reinstalling the extension.
Permissions. The only permission requested is storage (for the preferences above). The content scripts are limited to the Wordle page. The bundled word list (words.json) is a local file; the extension makes no network requests.
Links. The panel and popup contain a link to https://www.casualatlas.com/ with campaign tags (utm_source=wordle-hint). Nothing is sent unless you click it; if you do, the CasualAtlas website opens in a new tab and its own privacy policy applies to that visit.
Children. The extension does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes. If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date. Any future feature that would collect data would require a new review on the Chrome Web Store and an update to this policy first.
