START HERE

Protect your hearts before you guess

  • Read the whole prompt. Definitions, examples and exceptions often determine what the game accepts.
  • Start with a confident round. Bank progress before testing a format you do not understand yet.
  • Use the six-orb target. A perfect score is not required; avoid risking hearts only to complete every round.
  • Separate knowledge from format. A correct idea can still fail if the round expects a match, a specific spelling or one item at a time.
  • Pause on ambiguous categories. Follow the puzzle’s stated convention rather than a different general definition.

Scoring and heart rules: Daily Orbs: How to play.

READ THE ROUND TYPE

Four formats and a useful first move

Round shapeWhat it asksFirst move
Word relationReverse, transform or connect words under an exact rule.Solve the clearer clue first, then test the spelling or transformation.
Visual matchPair named items with photographs or illustrations.Claim one unmistakable image and use elimination on the rest.
Category callDecide which side of a stated distinction an item belongs to.Use the round’s own definition and examples, not a remembered convention.
Set buildingEnter members accepted under a qualified boundary.List obvious members, then reread exclusions before submitting.

These are reading strategies, not a promise about which four rounds will appear next.

NOTICE THE LOOP

Three ways a hint session stalls

01

Solving both halves at once

For linked clues, solve the easier half first and let the rule suggest a candidate for the second.

02

Trusting resemblance alone

Use labels, materials, cuisine or period as evidence, then eliminate matches you have already claimed.

03

Replacing the prompt’s rule

A category boundary can vary. The round’s own qualification is what the answer is judged against.

Need the official scoring rules?

The main guide explains the shared score, hearts and how to approach the four-round format.

Daily Orbs rules and scoring

Questions, answered

01Does Daily Orbs have an official hint button?

Not one that reveals only part of an answer. A round has a Reveal Answers control for the full solution; this independent page provides smaller, spoiler-free nudges.

02Do wrong Daily Orbs answers cost anything?

Yes. Each puzzle starts with three hearts, and each wrong answer costs one. Losing all three locks that puzzle while preserving orbs already earned.

03Which Daily Orbs round should I do first?

Start with the round you can approach most confidently. A clean three-orb round protects your score better than testing an unfamiliar format immediately.

04How many orbs do I need to win?

Six out of twelve. Each of the four puzzles offers three, so losing one entire round still leaves enough possible orbs.

05Does revealing answers remove earned orbs?

No. The official rules say giving up and revealing the remaining answers preserves the orbs already earned in that puzzle.

06Can I leave a Daily Orbs puzzle and come back?

Yes. The official rules say you can enter and exit puzzles at will and your progress is saved.

07Why does a boundary or category round feel ambiguous?

Some rounds define their own conventions. Read the qualifications in that day's prompt and follow them instead of assuming a universal rule.

08Are the actual Daily Orbs answers on this page?

No. This page provides date-specific, spoiler-free clues. The verified solutions are on the separate answers page.

09Do these Daily Orbs hints update every day?

Yes. The latest four-round set is refreshed from the publisher’s official game-day feed, with recent dated editions kept in the archive.

10Where can I play Daily Orbs?

Play free in a browser at DailyOrbs.com. The publisher also maintains an official how-to-play page for the scoring and heart rules.
